For the methods the dispatch is made under the hood. The switch
statement is kind of re-inventing the objected-oriented wheel in a
procedural way.
And?
Whether or not that's desirable is another argument entirely. There
are plenty of valid reasons whys such an approach would be preferable
and the OP just wanted to know how.
