!!!  -doubleValue returns a double, which is a floating point number.
This is *not* what he wants -- he wants a 64-bit integer.
-longLongValue gives you a 64-bit integer on any platform.  -intValue
gives you a 32-bit integer on any platform, and -integerValue gives
you a native-sized integer on any platform.
