Well, I'm making a command-line tool that uses another tool, and it would be convenient if that other tool could be packaged right inside the first tool.
So, the bundle structure is basically out... Right?

This is outside my area of expertise (or even knowledge, really), but does it have to be literally a command line tool?

Isn't it possible to write an application (which therefore has a bundle structure and can contain multiple command line tools) that can be run from the command line, but has no user interface beyond stdin/ stdout/stderr?

This application would just be a sort-of command line tool, and it could run embedded (real) command line tools as necessary.

Or am I just wildly off base here?
