Hi Ulf, The first instance of NSDocumentController (or a subclass) becomes the shared instance. It sounds like some code is instantiating an instance of NSDocumentController before your class, so the shared instance is of the base class instead of your subclass. I don't know what would be causing that, but you might look in your code for direct messages to NSDocumentController, instead of your subclass.
