Something along the lines of


Special Considerations
Prior to Mac OS X v10.5 this method returned an opaque root node representing 
all the currently displayed objects, suitable for use with Cocoa bindings. No 
assumption should be made about what methods this opaque object supports.

Ties the consideration to the version better..

Would that make it clearer for you and others?
