Unfortunately, no. Hackish as it may be, perhaps you can store the original image resolution/size as metadata in the PDF. All this back and forth between bitmap formats and PDF-as-container format though has me wondering if there isn't a better way. I don't know what you're trying to accomplish though so perhaps you have the optimal solution.
