Perhaps I misunderstand.
If I write
MyViewController * vc = [[MyViewController alloc] initWithNibName: @"aNib"
bundle: nil];
The view controller does not "come from a NIB;" it was instantiated inline. So
the answer to your third question is no, and your chart says, "iOS will create
a simple view and assign it to the view property of the view controller." In
fact, the other branch is taken: "iOS will load the view from the nib."
