Try this: Subclass NSNumberFormatter, and implement
isPartialStringValid:proposedSelectedRange:originalString:originalSelectedRange:errorDescription:
(preferred) or isPartialStringValid:newEditingString:errorDescription:. You
may have to setPartialStringValidationEnabled: YES.
At least, that's my reading of the documentation. I haven't tried it myself.
