Thanks guys, but you can't attach to a process with Leaks. This turned out to be a bug in Xcode 4.2, apparently. The app simply never ran. Someone mentioned that Xcode 4.2.1 existed (I must've missed the notification somehow), so I downloaded it and installed it. Instruments and Leaks now work, using the exact same steps I was using before.
