Keep in mind that you can always just include a blank white image for a
splash temporarily until a proper one is created. This is one of the first
things I do when I setup a new project.

here's a zip for those of you interested. It just contains some sample
launch images like how to create a landscape launch image (which recently
just came up on Apple's dev beta forums). It also has some pure white ones
that you can keep in a shared location and use for all new projects.
