I'm experiencing the same things. As it's beta 1 I guess it's expected that it's going to be really buggy. I wrote a simple app the other day and i crashed xcode easily 50 times. I'm giving up on swift for now until the next beta where Im hoping Apple fixes a load of things.
Also remember it's still in development so any radars you open will help shape the language and tools. Ive already spotted a dozzen holes in the language that Apple has replied to saying they're looking into it for a future release.
