I don't get a sound when I do that in any of my apps or a system open panel. Can you give more information on what sound you mean? Also, is this a Kiosk setup where you want to turn off certain sounds (and can afford to permanently modify things) or is this a regular app that normal users would launch and quit on their personal machines? If the former, I'd say you could set the alert sound volume to 0 or change it to a sound that is just silence. If the latter, why do you want to do this? If every other app exhibits a certain behaviour, it is (in general, at least) a bad idea to change the behaviour for your application.
