Request parameter setting

Hi all!

I'm new to this list, but I have a question and I think this is the right place to get an answer.
On the C2 website, there's an example action which sets request parameters using the request.setParameter() function - however, there's no such function.
I would like to have one if possible...

C2 is great, I like it really. Is it possible, that it will get faster in any of the beta phases?
