True. Avalon Excalibur has already prepared for the JDBC 3.0 in JDK1.4.
If compiled with JDK1.4, it will use the correct class--and hopefully
will be useable in a JDK1.3 world. Testing on that is needed, though.
There are some other issues with Swing.
I ran JBuilder 4.5 in JDK1.4 to see if it still worked. One nice thing
is that mouse-wheel scrolling is supported--but there is some general
flakiness in the UI (screen getting stuck, copy/paste not working
correctly).
Anyway--I am sure there are other surprises in JDK1.4 as well.
