I'm running Cocoon 2.1 (latest CVS) with Tomcat 4.0 beta 7 on Mac OS X 10.
x. I've been using it with PostgreSQL 7.1.2 until about a week ago when
technical difficulties unrelated to Cocoon forced me to move back to MySQL.
The problems I've described occur with both.
And yes, your description of having to hit 'refresh' once or twice is
exactly like my own experience. Glad to know I'm not imagining it!
