for example, we've got a component which pulls resources like images from a
database (it's actually a bit more complicated than that). These resources
have to be available to web clients as well as to "internal" clients, like, in
our case, an action which feeds a fax system. Or, in a more common context:
currently, fop can't make use of internal cocoon: resources, but in the future
it might be able to do so. It would then be able to pull in external graphics
not by goind around in a circle, using HTTP, but by using internal requests.
