The original author of ESQL (Donald Ball) considered the SQL Transformer
deprecated in a sense that since he put all his efforts in the new enhanced
taglib, the Transformer would have been neglected AFAIK. IMHO, from a purely
conceptual POV, database queries produce content, which properly belongs to
the Generation phase.
Other than these considerations AFAIK, there is no other apparent reason of
considering the SQL Transformer deprecated.
[Note to devs - cross-post] What do you think, is this "deprecation" to be
kept? It seems to confuse users.
