It appears the virus writers took the emails from public Web archives, and they send the messages so they appear as coming from one of persons from the headers. All the messages I received come from people I sent to or received emails from. It's pretty scary, since you may be led into believing the other person sent you an email. The messages contain attachments only for now, but I'm sure they'll get more refined, and do copy/paste from old messages to be more realistic. I'm on Linux and I always look at the attachments as text, so that's no problem for me. Others may not be as lucky though. Also I wonder why do they target open source? Is it possible that someone out there wants us to become virus victims and not be able to do useful work?
