The basic idea of the form handling comes actually from Apples WebObjects :)
As most of our concepts we make step-by-step plans which means we
make the design for the complete solution with all features, divide this
into small steps and implement the real necessary ones.
On the case of the form handling this is the first step with only
basic features.
We have planned to add validation, a general binding solution not only
for beans etc.

form handling is that it is very simple to use and straightforward but has

limitations.
I'm +1 on combining both, because we only need one solution, but only if:
a) The usage is as simple as it is now
b) The current features are preserved, which means I can simply store forms
into session
contexts

SunSpot is a portal framework (and now called webapps.portal package) which
can be compared to Jetspeed.
