The newly created directory src/java/org/apache/cocoon/matching/modular has no write permission for the 'xml' group, thus preventing CVS to create a lock in that directory during a normal cvs update operation.
Christian, or somebody with root permissions, could you please change the write permissions for the group? E.g. do a: chmod g+w /home/cvs/xml-cocoon2/src/java/org/apache/cocoon/matching/modular on icarus.
