It's not that difficult: there are two ways of doing so, and I need to
decide which one is the best:

1. configure user and password in the general configuration (cocoon.xconf);

2. parse the URL for user/password info (tricky due to 1.2/1.3 different
URL treatment: I've been away for a while so I don't recall if we
dropped 1.2 compatibility away. Has any decision been made?);

and even:

3. let the sysadm set a username/password pair in cocoon.xonf and let
the user have a chance to override the system wide values by embedding
user and password info in the URL.

Which one would you all think is best?

Anyway, ould you please file a bug in Bugzilla to keep track of this
issue? TIA. And, just out of curiosity, what XML:DB compliant database
are you using?

Ciao,
