Forgive me if this is OT, but this may be relevant to some of you ....

There's a nice new way of working with CVS via SSH in MacOSX.

The combination of BBEdit 7.0 (a popular coder's text editor) which now has CVS client built-in and a GUI to SSH Agent (called 'SSH Agent' ;) now makes it a doddle for us GUI types to work with CVS over SSH.

SSH Agent is set up to launch at login, either asking then for the password to your SSH keys, or getting it from the KeyChain. Then any GUI CVS client you use can get on with it's job without molesting you for passwords all the time.

You can also use 'shell worksheets' in BBEdit to handle common tasks like compilation, very easily.

Excellent!

Hope this helps someone ....

PS. The instructions for setting up SSH Agent are charmingly obscure, if anyone wants a hand, please ask ....

regards Jeremy
