it requires us to set up a number of redirects from the old location to the new one, so we should think about what legacy URLs for dist we want to support

For Forrest, I only support the main dist directory, using a .htaccess like:

Redirect /forrest/dist http://www.apache.org/dist/xml/forrest

That's basically all.
