Well, yes :-(
But if there is enough interest, the actions could receive support for
passing the form id dynamically so that steps b) and c) would not be
needed anymore. E.g. I'm thinking about passing a prefix and modifying
the xmlform module so that the form id is the root of the path -> /4711/table/name
and
<map:act type="db-add">
<map:parameter name="prefix" value="4711"/>
<map:act>
That would allow referencing form values from anywhere like
<map:transform type="xslt" src="skins/{xmlform:/4711/skin}.xsl"/>
as well :-)
