Some time ago (and unfortunately there doesn't seem to have been much
activity on the project recently) the project tanga,
http://wiki.truemesh.com/tanga/, peaked my interest as it took a lot of
the noise from the XML syntax. I liked it then and still like it now
because it just a form of input source so was an encoding solution that
allowed any any based language to be enhanced.
