The reason why I first started to use Cocoon was that it was "backwards
compatible" with the existing web, i.e. it could output HTML and use XML
only internally. In the same vein I think it would be useful to output
charts, figures etc. to GIF and use SVG only internally for generation.
Now, fop can only render PDF, but that is as of now good enough for me.
And one day I'll use Cocoon2 and everything will be different :)
