A "segmentation fault" is a serious problem. It's highly unlikely that it is caused by Cocoon. Note that you don't need a separare install of Ant, the version that goes with Cocoon 2 works great. The JDK or JRE you have installed could be a problem. You need at least version 1.2.x according to the docs, but with me J2SDK version 1.3.1 from SUN worked best. If you have any more problems, please report the version numbers of the various parts: JDK, Servlet Engine, Cocoon.
