Thank you for your answer - the first one which pointed me in the right direction.
In the mailing list archives is a lot of discussion, but nothing usable about this 
question, some 
things are really wrong.
One problem remains though, the variable remains empty.

I have to try a little bit, but use-request-parameters is the right direction.
