Xml-Pdf question....

Hi Cocooners!   I've a question... I would to make the xml-pdf example that there are in the main page of cocoon... .But I would to do this,but first, making a query into  a database (like the xml- sql example that there are in the main page of cocoon) ......Is it possible to do this ?   Thanks...
