The java 1.4 'headless' solution is only a partial solution. It still requires an X server (or pja - which works best for me) for a lot of the awt calls - bit stupid really.
I think the pja solution I posted in the past is the most stable - if you need me to reiterate, tell me. I was told the X Server problem would be solved with Java1.4 but I still have the same problem : C2 doesn't work (http://myserver/cocoon/ doesn't reply) if I am not logged on the server (I start tomcat in a telnet session).
