Vadim I apreciate the reply. Now I can see that at least my grammar is OK. :-)
However, I am no nearer to finding out *why* the code does not work at all i.e. why the XSP page is not even compiled? I *have* tried to model my code on the forms/employee sample; apart from some differences in the display (eg. no JavaScript) they are very similar. How do I go about finding why no action can be / is processed?
