Hi Diego, I have the same configuration and I didn't copy cocoon under webapps directory, but the cocoon.war file. Then I restarted Tomcat so that the war file can be unpacked.
Then you have to copy the batik...jar and xml-apis.jar file to the common/lib directory and restart tomcat again.
