Hi colleagues,

I've found a workaround:

If I use a constraint-set it will work. When using a constraint-set I need
to have a <parameter> definition for all of the contained fields. Otherwise
I get a null pointer exception in the log file.

It's very strange for me, that I cannot leave it out the constraint-set...
but I think in a real application it's better to use them.

Best regards

Subject: FormValidation min-len/max-len does not work

Dear colleagues,

I want to validate a field with the validation as follows:

<root>
  <parameter name="startzip" type="string" min-len="5" max-len="6"/>
</root>

If I type in a string with 4 characters, validation is successful (but
should not!).

If I change validation to

<root>
  <parameter name="startzip" type="long" min-len="5" max-len="6"/>
</root>

and type in some non-numeric characters, validation will fail (it should).
What can be wrong? I took the min-len and max-len attributes with the
string-type from documentation.

Thank you, best regards
- Volker -
