             <assert test="string-length(password) &gt; 7">
                 The Password Should be @ least 8 character.
             </assert>
             <assert test="password == passwordConfirm">
                 The Password Should be the same as before.
             </assert>
 </rule>

but Note that it must be only one equal sign not 2   i.e  
test="password=passwordConfirm"
