Yes this isn't implemented in the serializer yet. It is supported by
HSSF.
I saw the rows/cols attributes in the gnumeric dtd but gnumeric
doesn't generate those attributes. I updated EPCell.java (will submit
to bugzilla shortly) to support merged fields but it's a bit of a
manual effort to tag cells to be merged (and error prone).
