Yes - you can store the pages on the server as Word-HTML, and with Cocoon use the HTMLGenerator to convert them to XHTML, use some stylesheets to remove any Word rubbish, include transformer or aggregate transformer to aggregate content with navigation elements, etc, and publish the results as XHTML.
