No, it shouldn't. The '*' matches only a file name and not a path. Probably
you are looking for something like below:

<map :match pattern="**/*.rss"> - this will match any path/file.rss
or
<map :match pattern=""> - this will match any request without a path or a
file (default matcher)
or
<map :match pattern="**/"> - this will match any path.

and so on.
