Just to clarify, 228 megs is not a magic number - it's just approximately the amount of free memory on my system when most things are shut down. If you have more, you may want to use more and if you have less you can probably get away with less.
The war is big, but that now by default I think includes all blocks, and all of scratchpad (I think). That's good for keeping the large amount of possibilities in front of people, but most deployed systems won't need a great deal of that. Antonio, you've hit on an interesting issue. I am still using a 1.4.0x version of java. I have 1.4.1 downloaded but haven't even bothered to extract it yet. I wonder if there's something there?
