Hi Patrick, This is an acronym misunderstanding ... sftp in this case is part of rpc2 and is a "side-effect file transport". This sftp has nothing to do with the secure shell protocol you may be thinking about. It will be in plain text until you authenticate to a coda server. Then it will be weakly encrypted. The rcp2 protocol suite does not yet have strong encryption implemented. It is on the todo list, but at a relatively low priority at the current time. - --Phil - -- Phil Nelson NetBSD: http://www.netbsd.org e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Coda: http://www.coda.cs.cmu.edu http://www.cs.wwu.edu/nelson -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.3 (NetBSD) iD8DBQFCSgBMzbodwsP3RI0RAv7TAJ9jRtZUPdXMkgAPNtHc97dr51jRLQCfcT2p qbWfBMxZC41ZaUCaSPEhuJA= =WlWC -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
