For rudimentary permissions needs you need rudimentary setup,
for advanced needs you need an advanced setup. Coda offers reasonable
tools for both.
And those tools would be? cfs sa?
Forget chmod/chown.
Forget "client_host". It is irrelevant for access-rights-related
discussion.
Forget "logon". It has nothing to do with Coda security [model].
Forget "volume" when you are talking permissions, think "directory".
Forgotten.
It seems that your thought setup is not being designed with Coda
security model in mind.
What model will provide rudimentary file access security?
My best suggestions for going further are listed above.
I missed it. An explicit ACL set on each directory? An explicit ACL set on
each directory and file? A simple yes or no will suffice, provided such can
be given.
