finally i had time to apply the patch Jan Harkes sent me.
I tried both: a linux-kernel 2.3.99-pre3 and 2.3.99-pre4.
In any case i was unable to create non empty files
(for example with: echo "hello" > hello.txt).
Moving, reading files workes fine.
It seems to be a client-problem
as the error appeared both on the local server and the
testserver testserver.coda.cs.cmu.edu
and additionally
everything workes perfectly with a linux-kernel 2.2.10.
The same problem was reported by LeBlanc before.
The copilation of the linux-client from the CVS-server fails
with 2.3.99-pre3.
