problems with lwp-1.5

Hi,

just tried to configure and compile lwp-1.5.orig.tar.gz on 
SunOS 5.7 Generic_106542-04 i86pc i386.
I'm using  gcc-version 2.95.2 19991024 (release),
GNU make Version 3.77 and as / ar.

During compilation  I get an assembler-error:

gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I../../src -I.. -I../../include -g -O2 -DPIC -fPIC
-c  -fPIC -DPIC ../../src/process.S -o .libs/process.lo
Assembler: 
        aline 1 : Illegal mnemonic
        aline 1 : syntax error
        aline 43        : Illegal mnemonic
        aline 43        : syntax error
        aline 46        : Illegal mnemonic
        aline 46        : syntax error

make[2]: *** [process.lo] Error 1

Any ideas?
