Hi,
since we had no serious problems in the past,
more and more of our users start using coda.
Time to think about a backup before it's too late ...
For playing around I have set it up all on the server,
it might (should?) move when fully implemented.
1) I have setup the dumplist:
7f000041 IFIIIII coda.homes.fzoellne
2) there is the vicetab
aipc1 /vicepa ftree width=128,depth=3
aipc1 /vicepb ftree width=128,depth=3
aipc1 /vol/coda/backup backup
The backup Directory is on some partition mounted on /vol,
but not used for "other" coda purposes. I hope that's O.K. ?
Do I have to initialise it somehow ?
3) am am root and have admin tokens
4) I started backup manually and got error messages
attached below: backup -t 135 /vice/db/dumplist /backup
5) Just for Fun I tried to lock a volume manually,
and it also fails:
volutil lock 0x7f000001
V_BindToServer: binding to host aipc1
VolLock failed with Unknown RPC2 return code 200
A related (backup newbie) question:
how much of the server is needed on the BCM ?
The Manual mentions only the backup tools, but not which daemons
and other software is needed, if any.
