I haven't looked at the XFS sources, but if it provides it's own
implementation for generic_file_read and generic_file_write out Coda
client kernel module will not be able to access the container files.

The server should not be affected by the underlying filesystems. More
information would definitely be useful, is vice-setup failing, does vice
setup complete, but the server fails during startup (i.e. is there
anything in /vice/srv/SrvLog)?
