J. Y. Joyner Library at East Carolina University (ECU) seeks applicants for the newly created position of Data Services Librarian. As a member of the Research and Scholarly Communication Department, this person will be responsible for developing and delivering data management services and support to the ECU community.
The Data Services Librarian will provide outreach and instructional services on data management, data literacy, bibliometrics, and other scholarly communication topics. Additionally, this person will advise researchers on data management compliance including best practices for preservation and access. The Data Services Librarian will collaborate with campus research offices to highlight ECU Libraries’ role in data management and to support grant-seekers. This person will also communicate trends and issues related to data management to liaison librarians at ECU. Other duties may include serving as a liaison librarian to one or more departments and serving as a member of library committees and task forces.
