Colleagues,

On behalf of the VIVO 2017 Conference Task Force, I am pleased to invite you to
attend the 8th Annual National VIVO Conference which will take place in New
York City, NY USA from August 2nd to 4th. Invited speakers include James
Hendler, who co-authored the pre-eminent article on the semantic web with Tim
Berners-Lee, and Ying Ding, who teaches data science, researches bibliometrics
and data-driven knowledge discovery, and who uses semantic web technologies in
drug discovery. Anyone interested in linked open data should attend.

Register at final early bird rate ($275) by July 7 at
https://www.eventbrite.com/e/vivo-2017-conference-registration-32786665800?aff=vivoconfsite

The student rate is $99. Due to demand our first block of rooms has sold out,
but I have secured additional hotel rooms in the Helmsley Tower, which is next
door to Weill Cornell Medicine. To reserve at the Helmsley, please call by
phone and note that you are with the VIVO Conference block. You may reach them
at 800-HM TOWER or calling the hotel directly at 212-774-5703. There are a
variety of rooms available within the block below $300 per night. There is a
link to register for the Helmsley on the VIVO page, which shows great images of
the rooms, but only booking by phone will allow you to reserve within the room
block. Please let me or our Senior Administrative Assistant Nicole Poldiak
know if you have any questions about reserving a room.

The Annual VIVO conference brings together a community of scientists, scholars,
technologists and higher education professionals from around the globe in order
to promote the discovery of research beyond traditional disciplinary bounds.
VIVO 2017 will provide an open, collegial forum for the exchange of ideas on
how new semantic and collaborative technologies impact research and science.
Please visit the VIVO site if you wish to learn more about VIVO, our community,
or download our software, documentation, appliances, ontology or tools.
