Time: Monday, February 12, 1:00-2:00 PM Location: Colorado Convention Center, Rm 107/109/111 Title: FAST-Wikipedia Linking Presenter: Diane Vizine-Goetz, Senior Research Scientist, OCLC Topic: This presentation will describe a research project to link FAST (Faceted Application of Subject Terminology) to Wikipedia articles. Links between FAST and Wikipedia/Wikidata enable people and software applications to take advantage of information in both resources. Approximately 41% of non-subdivided FAST topical headings were algorithmically matched to Wikipedia article titles with a high degree of accuracy. The presentation will discuss reasons for non-matches and present additional approaches for linking FAST and Wikipedia/Wikidata.
