*apologies for cross posting* The ALA ALCTS/LITA MARC Formats Transition Interest Group is currently seeking two volunteers to serve two-year terms as Vice Co-Chairs in 2017 and Co-Chairs in 2018.
Our statement of purpose: To provide a forum to educate the library community about ongoing efforts to transition from the MARC bibliographic format. This interest group examines new approaches for implementing library metadata exchange standards within the framework of linked open data and web-based technology. In 2018 you will be working with Co-Chairs Sherab Chen and Rachel Paul on session program planning, interest group administration, and publicizing efforts via various listservs and websites. Serving as Vice Co-Chair provides an opportunity to acclimate before assuming the role of Co-Chair. Candidates should be able to attend both ALA Midwinter and Annual meetings, and be a member of ALCTS, LITA, or both.
