Birmingham-Southern College invites applications for the position of Electronic 
Systems and Services Librarian.  This one-year non-tenure-track faculty 
position bears responsibility for the implementation and maintenance of library 
technology platforms and for ensuring timely and reliable access to holdings 
via the library’s Discovery tools.  The Library currently uses OCLC WMS as its 
integrated library system and EBSCO Discovery Service, and maintains LibGuides. 
 In collaboration with other librarians, the person in this position will also 
support academic research for students and faculty by participating in 
instruction and reference, the creation of library guides, and collection 
development activities.

The successful applicant will have a strong desire to be an active member of 
the Birmingham-Southern faculty; relevant professional experience in an 
academic setting; experience with electronic library systems management, as 
well as technology-assisted delivery of information services; and excellent 
interpersonal, communication, and collaborative skills.  An ALA-accredited MLIS 
or equivalent degree is required by the time of appointment.
