Call for proposals: Bibliometrics and Research Impact Community (BRIC) May 15 & 16, 2019 The 2019 BRIC Program Committee invites proposals for the upcoming Bibliometrics and Research Impact Community (BRIC), taking place May 15 - 16, 2019 at Laval University Library in historic Quebec City. Whether this is your first time attending, or you have attended before, this 2-day community of practice will explore Canada’s diverse research impact ecosystem, and will support meaningful connections with colleagues doing similar work across the country. The 2019 event will bring together the diverse community that forms the BRI world: the information providers (such as librarians and analysts) and the information requestors (stakeholders such as directors, managers, etc). Participate in the BRIC as a speaker! The BRIC Program Committee invites colleagues across the country to share their expertise. We are currently seeking proposals for these session types: · Short presentation: 15-20 minutes (includes Q&A) · Long presentation: 30-45 minutes (includes Q&A) · Posters with lightning talk: 7-10 minutes · Panel presentation: 30-45 minutes (includes Q&A) · Hands-on session / workshop: 60 minutes (includes Q&A) Potential presentation themes include: · How bibliometrics & research impact data informs decision-making · Organizational perspectives on bibliometrics & research impact data · Special projects, practical applications, best practices, tips & tricks · The unique roles of different colleagues: librarians, analysts, research facilitators, etc · The ethical considerations of responsible data use · New developments, and new tools, in the field To submit a proposal, please send your session title/description/type, to bri-confere...@library.carleton.ca<mailto:bri-confere...@library.carleton.ca> by January 31, 2019. Please note that to encourage grassroots participation, and to keep event costs down, we unfortunately cannot fund presenters’ travel costs! However, potential speakers may find it useful to know that the BRIC event will occur immediately after an all-day InCites event, organized by Clarivate Analytics, scheduled for May 14. Malheureusement, nous ne pouvons couvrir les frais de déplacement des conférenciers afin de minimiser les coûts d’inscription pour les participants. Pour votre information, le Forum InCites organisé par Clarivate, se déroulera également à la Bibliothèque de l’Université Laval, immédiatement avant le BRIC, le mardi 14 mai.
